Blickling Hall

Built in the early 17th century and one of England's great Jacobean houses, Blickling is famed for its spectacular long gallery, superb library and fine collections of furniture, pictures and tapestries. Visit the taster tour for more. The gardens are full of colour throughout the year.

The beautiful parkland surrounding the mansion was landscaped during the eighteenth century. Concealed within the grander design are remnants of the earlier medieval manor, with approximately 600 acres of woodland (some on sites of ancient pasture woodland), 800 acres of permanent pasture, a long artificial lake, hedgerows, the River Bure and a disused railway line in the Norfolk countryside.

Blickling estate is a lively community, and an active National Trust property. All the information you require about how to get to Blickling, events programme, countryside activities and group visits can be found from these pages at the official National Trust website: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/places/blickling
